DAY 2
Preventing and Healing Injuries Asana Lab
This two-day immersion is aimed at advancing practitioners and teachers who desire to dive deeply into the core principles of breath-centered Yoga practice.
For the past three decades, Leslie Kaminoff has been integrating groundbreaking insights from the fields of anatomy, biomechanics and manual therapy with Yoga theory and practice. In the tradition of Krishnamacharya and Desikachar special attention is given to the relationship of the breath to the spine. This will form the core of Leslie’s focus on this workshop’s first day, which includes a detailed exploration of breath mechanics in relation to spinal support and articulation.
Day two’s participatory asana lab will advance the material with a practical exploration of healthy movement in asana using an emphasis on breath-centered alignment cues, modifications and corrections. Specific asanas and vinyasas – chosen by participants – will be examined from the perspective of breath-centered principles.
